Context

On the 1st and 2nd of July 2021, the VI edition of the scientific event Educational Research Paths: Unfinished Dialogues (VI Jornadas) will take place. This event is organized by the students attending the 2nd year of the Doctoral Program in Education (Department of Education and Psychology, University of Aveiro), under the curricular unit Research Seminar I, lectured by Professor Helena Araújo e Sá and Professor Manuela Gonçalves.

Similar to previous editions, this VI Jornadas arose with the purpose of creating a space for debate about the research carried out by doctoral students, as a means for the development of research skills in Education in young researchers. As an event open to the participation of both civil society and the academic community, this VI Jornadas seek to serve the growing importance attributed to open and free Science communication, capable of being read and listened to by all.

For the VI edition of Educational Research Paths: Unfinished Dialogues, the following objectives were defined:

  1. Provide a space for scientific communication and knowledge dissemination, referring to ongoing investigative pathways within the scope of the Doctoral Program in Education (Department of Education and Psychology, University of Aveiro);
  2. Promote critical and interdisciplinary analysis of the literature reviews under discussion, through interaction between peers and between peers and specialists in the areas under study, thus contributing to the development of transversal research skills and to an articulated construction of knowledge;
  3. Encourage critical reflection on the issues under review, from a perspective of social responsibility and the exercise of active and participatory citizenship.
